This is a list of all the software I use almost daily. I always try to find an open source solution or freeware, there are a few applications that are worth paying for such as isobuster (free except for udf/mac recovery support), winrar, r-studio, and true image.

Do you have any tools, utilities or cool software that should be here? Click here to tell me, I will add them.

In progress - still adding tools.

Freeware Tools
ISO Buster Recover files from damaged or unreadable CDs/DVDs/Image files or just make sure there are no errors on a disc.
WinRAR WinRAR blows WinZip away.
Autoruns See what programs are configured to startup automatically when your system boots and you login. Autoruns also shows you the full list of Registry and file locations where applications can configure auto-start settings.
Process Explorer Find out what files, registry keys and other objects processes have open, which DLLs they have loaded, and more. This uniquely powerful utility will even show you who owns each process.
Regmon This monitoring tool lets you see all Registry activity in real-time.
CCleaner The best system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system and history/settings from all windows programs and most third part programs.
Memtest86+

Bootable memory burn-in/tester. Many tests simply throw some patterns at memory without much thought or knowledge of memory architecture or how errors can best be detected. This works fine for hard memory failures but does little to find intermittent errors. BIOS based memory tests are useless for finding intermittent memory errors.

This is a bootable floppy or CD image that automatically runs the test in a loop. Let it run past test 4 to find most memory errors.

MHDD

Low-level HDD diagnostics. Access raw sectors, manage S.M.A.R.T. (SMART) and other drive parameters such as acoustic management, security, Host Protected Area. You can even send your own commands to a drive using very simple linear scripting engine.

Bootable floppy or CD image.
